24 Days of Turtle (2014): Day 23 (Mirage Holiday Card)

Welcome to the 2014 edition of 24 Days of Turtle. The awesome advent calendar features daily TMNT Christmas-themed treasures. There will be festive fun, gracious gifts, and Turtle Powered prizes!

A merry mutant is invading your mailbox on DAY 23 of the countdown.

MIRAGE HOLIDAY CARD
(2007)

Ah, the art of the holiday card. There are so many directions to take - genres of joy. Humorous, religious, pets, a family portrait - the possibilities are endless. Everyone sends something different - boasting their outlook on life. And that's what I love. Every time one arrives in the mail, I curiously open the envelop to unravel the mystery.

The more holiday cards I receive, the merrier I become. It's like building a seasonal collection that rotates every year. I love displaying them in my home and basking in the assortment of holiday spirit.

This year, I received a cowabunga-filled card in the mail. The sender? Mirage Studios. The slim piece of paper is the holy grail of my holiday card collection. The front features original artwork brimming with creativity. I haven't seen this design anywhere else, I'm guessing it's exclusive to this card.

I'd totally shell out good money if a real TMNT door knocker was for sale. How beautiful would that look on The Sewer Den's door?

The inside of the card is just as cool. The artwork is from the 2007 CGI movie - the same year the card was produced. Despite having the world's biggest candy cane, the 2007 Donny doesn't seem in the holiday sprit. His annoyed expression is a questionable choice for the joyous season.

The back of the card plays out like the end credits of a movie. We get to see who did what.

I must admit, Mirage didn't send this card exclusively to The Sewer Den. I purchased a heap of them for my Christmas collection. It was an item that was destined for 24 Days of Turtle. It's the only day on the countdown that comes with an official letter of authenticity!

Each day of 24 Days of Turtle will feature a Turtle-Powered present.

I'd love to send every TMNT fan a holiday card. Unfortunately, I can't afford that many stamps. But, I can deliver digitally! Today's gift is a high-res scan of the Mirage 2007 holiday card. Bask in the awesome artwork of the company's seasonal greetings.

Check back tomorrow for the FINAL DAY of 24 Days of TurtleUntil then, stay jolly, dudes & dudettes!
