EDITOR'S NOTE: This column showcases my random discoveries of TMNT merchandise. Despite the extensive collection from my childhood, I still find myself making Turtle purchases as an adult. Totally Tubular Treasures highlights just that.

The Sewer Den has treated me to a lot of interesting experiences. Through this blog, I have ventured into many uncharted waters. From the wacky events, to the cool people I've met along the way, the stories I write always keep me hooked. A pair of TMNT underwear might not mean much to some, but to us Turtle fans? It's everything.

Another awesome experience recently arrived on my doorstep. The Sewer Den gets the occasional eBay package, but nothing marked quite like this. Hand-written and full of promise, this small box brought huge anticipation.

Who doesn’t like a party? From the moment you’re placed upon this Earth, you’re a natural born party animal. Most likely, there were several celebrations in your honor. Remember your first birthday? Probably not, but I can guarantee your parents reveled in the moment. You were likely showered with gifts as everyone sang songs and ate cake in a joyous celebration. You were a true partygoer, at age one.

ISSUE 16: BODACIOUS BIRTHDAYS

Happy Birthday to me. On October 27th of every year, I'm treated to a day of celebration. When I was a young gun in the late 80's and early 90's, a similar birthday invitation went out every year...

These parties were centered around the Ninja Turtles. Plates, napkins, balloons, the cake - Raphael even showed up one year!

But, as the years went on, the Turtles went out. Too cool for TMNT, my birthdays took a turn in a new, more mature direction. I'd be lying if I said Raphael was with me this year to blow out the candles on my birthday cake...

But after a long birthday-hiatus, the Ninja Turtles have returned. The recent creation of The Sewer Den has opened the door once again for Turtle, gift-giving opportunities. And boy, it was TMNT gifts galore!

Where these gifts came from remains a mystery to me. Mostly all of them are from the TMNT heyday, which makes them exceptionally special. So what treats was I unwrapping this year? Let's see how I celebrated this birthday...
