Cowabunga Christmas: Day 19 (Postage Stamp)

Welcome to Cowabunga Christmas - the 2015 edition of 24 Days of Turtle.
From December 1st through 24th, the Turtle Powered advent calendar will feature daily holiday-themed treasures from every era of TMNT.

Let the countdown 'til Christmas continue with DAY 19!

Kids, this post might bore you. Or it might raise your interest in the postal system. Purchasing custom stamps doesn't seem like an exhilarating activity. But when I saw TMNT holiday stamps were available, my sewer senses started tingling. Turtle Power invading mailboxes across America?! What a gnarly notion! The thought of sending close friends and family members Christmas cards with TMNT stamps mustered up excitement.

The stamp features the Turtles from the 2012 Nickelodeon series, primed for the holidays. There's no "Merry Christmas," but the design boasts seasonal colors with a stylized Christmas tree. I'm happy as an elf to see the Turtles on a festive stamp, but the holiday cheer could use a boost. Their attack position is just too aggressive. Why so grumpy, guys? Where's the goodwill towards mankind? The lack of Christmas accessories (Santa hats, candy canes, etc.) is also rookie mistake.

The TMNT postage stamp is the coal of this year's countdown. It's mediocre at best, grasping at straws for jolly spirit. What irks me the most is the Zazzle.com logo. What an eyesore! It's silly to pay for stamps and have a url this dominant. For double the price of normal stamps, these things belong in the sewer, not your mailbox. Zazzle has scrooged us!

Check back tomorrow for DAY 20 of Cowabunga Christmas! Can't wait until then? Take a trip with the Ghost from Christmas Past to see what The Sewer Den put on display on December 19th in 2013 and 2014.
