24 Days of Turtle: Day 8 (Snakeweed Mistletoe)

This holiday season, Santa is coming to the sewers! 24 Days of Turtle is a countdown until Christmas guaranteed to make you merry. From December 1st through 24th, this advent calendar will shell out 24 different TMNT Holiday-themed treats. Each day will offer something new, something ninja.

DAY 8: SNAKEWEED MISTLETOE

You can deck the halls with boughs of holly, but I deck the walls of The Sewer Den with merry mutant cheer. As you can see with 24 Days of Turtle, there are plenty of festive finds in the world of TMNT. One item has eluded me all these years. I’ve searched high and low, but have never stumbled upon any Turtle-inspired mistletoe.

This makes sense considering the Turtles are aimed towards children. And kids don’t kiss. They can get cooties from that.

But now, us original fans are older. Many are married and have even started families of their own. I’m not one of those just yet, but do have a lovely gal who’s been in my life a few years. During of the holidays, it’d be nice to smack a smooch on her with the help of mistletoe. With TMNT leaving me in the cold, I was forced to take matters into my own hands.

There are no mistletoe mutants, but there is a plant. Straight from the Nickelodeon series, Snakeweed has mutated my idea to life. By uprooting this action figure and swinging him upside down, I instantly have a holiday season wrapped with kissing opportunities.

Taking no chances, I added real mistletoe for jovial panache. Now, Snakeweed boasts the classic red and green Christmas colors.

Although this guy might be venomous, I am not. Nothing but love here. Pucker up.

Make sure to return tomorrow for Day 9 of 24 Days of Turtle!

  1. Aww, what a fun and creative idea to do! Was it hard to part with the packaging?

Nice you did this for your gal, I know for sure she'll enjoy being under a turtle-themed mistletoe. It makes me wonder if there are any TMNT mistletoes out there. Considering it's popularity, I would say that there are, but it's pretty obscure and hard to find.

Overall, the creativity in this radical. :)

    1. I happily opened the package. The figure is way cooler out of it than in. And then when you mutate him into mistletoe? Perfection!

Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late pizza.
