Rare Junk: Tissue Box

Rare Junk is dedicated to those unintentional, yet completely outlandish discoveries - ultra-rare TMNT items that you’ve never seen listed on eBay or at your local toy show. No action figures, only bizarre merchandise that decades ago found its way to store shelves all across the world.

Boogers! Or at least that’s what this one is intended for. This is just your basic tissue box, but my, oh my is the artwork is a thing of beauty. It reminds me of a box of cereal, with eye candy occupying every space of the package. Heroes and villains are on display, giving you visual joy every time you blow your schnoz.

I previously had these displayed on my desk at work. The artwork fueled a daily positive attitude and served as a constant reminder to all my co-workers that I’m a Ninja Turtles freak. Win, win. That was until people started using them. I never actually saw anyone take a tissue, but I noticed the supply was slowly depleting day-by-day. My precious “collector item” was been hijacked by colleagues with runny noses! I guess not everyone sees the value in junky box of tissues from the 80s.

Splinter and April take their tissues very seriously.

Nothing says nose-blowing like a pink wad from Dimension X. You've gotta love that Krang, who let's be honest, kind of looks like a booger, made it onto this tissue box.

If you didn't notice, this gem is straight from Europe. No Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles here. Instead, we've got Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles - the European version of your green pals. International nose-blowing!

The box has been safely transported to The Sewer Den collection, now sitting behind glass in a cabinet like some sort of important work of art. It’s silly to value something so goofy, but I mean, am I crazy thinking this thing is so cool? Probably. But hey, it’s a rare find and I’m excited to have it as part of my collection. I love this box of tissues - a statement a man dreams of a saying in his lifetime.

Smell ya later, dudes.
